Christmas Haul 2009
Dec 28.09 / Occasions, Shopping

Here is the present that my sister made me for Christmas (alongside some other goodies) – the mandarin hat from Animal Crossing as you can see in the picture below. Probably not particularly interesting for you if you’re not a fan of the game, but I’m sure you can appreciate that I now have a hat that looks like an orange!

I did get some other things that may be of slightly more interest to you though -

I have moved on from the Twilight bandwagon and switched over to the True Blood/Sookie Stackhouse books. The fact that all the books have the word dead in them made it very difficult to buy the remaining 4 out of the series today (I had a giftcard) because I couldn’t remember what I had! As much as I liked the whole Twilight thing, hopefully True Blood won’t be as cheesy.

My sister is the best and managed to find and buy me these boots that I’d given up on ever finding again after missing out on the last pair.

Christmas 2009
Dec 27.09 / Occasions

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, I certainly did, particularly due to a certain present my sister made me! Now I’m going to sit back for a while, eat more than I should and most likely nap a lot.

Secret Santa
Dec 24.09 / Making, Occasions, Work in Progress
I love wrapping presents, for birthdays, for Christmas, pretty much any occasion. My ideal part time Christmas job could probably be working at those stalls that offer gift wrapping services!
This year for my Secret Santa gift I thought I’d try out this tutorial I found as it tells you how to make those traditional bows that you just stick on. I never realised how simple it was to make them.

As we were all leaving for the Christmas holidays to go back home, we went out for a meal to exchange presents (and open them) and I think everyone was pretty pleased.
Hope everyone has a good Christmas tomorrow! xx
A Well Deserved Break
Dec 22.09 / Out & About

Hello! I’ve finally finished my first semester at university which included taking down that beast of a dissertation! Now I’m ready for a well deserved Christmas break back at home.
Well sort of, I’ve got 2 weeks left of it after the holidays. And during the holidays I’ll be tidying work up that I’ve done over the last few months and getting it ready for assessment amongst some other jobs that I have to get done. So I’m sort of on a working holiday?

I have been up to other things though, one including the ‘Glasses & Tashes’ night out fundraiser (courtesy of Andy, Katy, Nikki and Ellie) for our final show! It was pretty successful and we managed to raise a good amount from tickets and door entry – thanks to the people that participated!
Be Back After Writing…
Dec 13.09 / Everything Else

Sorry for lack of posting things lately, you would not believe how much work has been going on in the past week. Anyway, I just have to do one last push of working like a crazy person (on my dissertation would you believe) and I should be back to a acceptable work load in a few days.
I never mentioned, I went to The Clothes Show last weekend and it was awesome. This is the 3rd time I’ve been in a row now, I love it! I will try and take some time to photograph my haul as soon as I can :)
I do have some other news, but I’m waiting for a reply at the moment before it may become some actual exciting news or something exciting that happened. So will hopefully share soon!
Marc Alcock Lecture
Dec 02.09 / Design, Sketchbook

If you didn’t know, I’m in my 3rd year on a graphic design course and at the moment we are beginning to organise fund raising activities which includes organising visiting lecturers from the creative industry (courtesy of Ste & Tom).
Last Wednesday Marc Alcock kindly came to talk about self promotion and it was really interesting! Especially as he had graduated only 3 years ago, so it was nice to be able to relate more with what he was saying compared to someone who might have graduated much longer ago.
I think everyone who went, found it boosted their morale a bit. Everything is so stressful at the moment, it was really good to listen to someone who has done it all before.
