2 Month Catch Up

Apr 06.10 / Everything Else, Photographs, Travel

Desk

Hello everyone! Been much longer than I thought it was since I last wrote anything. I assure you it wasn’t intentional – my work load has been absolutely mental! It does mean I’ve got lots to share with you now so I’ll catch you up with what I’ve been doing.

Photobooth          Photostrips

I finally finished going through the photographs I took in Berlin which you can see on Flickr if you do so wish to. To round up the trip (which was about 2 months ago now) – really enjoyed it, although it was very, very cold and wet. If my sister hadn’t bought me those leather boots for my birthday I don’t know what I would have done. Most likely lost some toes.

Over the last few days, I did the usual tourist spots – the Jewish memorial museum, checkpoint charlie etc. I also spent a ridiculous amount of time at a B&W photobooth, although the photostrips are quite nice to keep.

365

I’ve uploaded a huge batch of photographs from my 365 project to Flickr. I have some disappointing news to admit to though – I stopped the project near the beginning of March because I just wasn’t able to put a lot of effort into it because of the little time I’ve had spare and they were starting to become more and more last minute.

I am a bit sad that I didn’t carry it on as it’s been really nice to see a picture of something that had happened everyday since I started, it’s helped me remember things that I would have most likely forgotten about, like my friend plastering a ceiling one time!

DIssertation

Moving on to more positive things, I finished and handed in my dissertation! Probably not as exciting to announce as it was about a month ago, but the moment I had finished binding it was one of the most satisfying moments I had had in a long time.

For anyone worrying about it, it is a pain to work on, but don’t leave it till the very last minute. As long as you decide to write about a subject you enjoy, it won’t be as awful as you think.

Thumb

There’s plenty more to come – some lovely things I’ve received in the post, some events that have been happening at university and all the work I’ve been doing whilst I’ve been missing and probably some other bits too.

But I’m kind of sleepy now so I’ll leave it for another time and share a happy face with you. Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter whatever it is you might have done. Myself personally, slowing working my way through my stash of easter eggs!

First film roll from Diana Mini

Diana Mini

On Wednesday I developed my first roll of film from my cute little Diana Mini. As I had it on half frame setting, it took me a while to take 72 photos. Particularly when the people you’re with do a flying out of the way movie style dodge when they catch a glimpse of it coming out of your bag.

Damaged Spine

I bought a copy of Lula about two weeks ago and I was so excited to get it in the post, however as you can see, the postman/woman busted the spine whilst trying to get it through the postbox which sucks.

They appear to have a habit of doing this to our post. My friend managed to purchase a book that is no longer being published, so are quite hard to find/expensive and the spine got damaged on that too. Boooo.

Anyway, it’s absolutely beautiful. If you’re interested, you can find scans at The Fashion Spot.

RAF Nocton Hall Hospital

Oct 20.09 / Out & About, Photographs

Hospital

During last week I was also working on something for another project with 4 other people which required us to think of some sort of photo editorial to place in a magazine. We ended up going to the RAF Nocton Hall hospital about a 25 minute drive away from us for our shoot which was awesome.

It’s actually massive but been stripped of anything valuable by now which makes it just that bit more creepy.
