Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Jul 31.10 / Design, Work in Progress

I totally forgot about this project, simply just a cover design for Alice in Wonderland which I’m sure all of you are very much aware of.

And if you’re curious as to how I made the cover -

As you can see, I’m very hi-tech with the equipment I choose to use…
Otto Paper
Jul 27.10 / Design

This is the last ever project I did for uni – a branding project in fact, which was a bit risky considering I’d not really done much in that area previously and who really wants to fall flat on their face on their last ever project? Anyway, I was pretty pleased with it in the end, especially since time was not being particularly kind to me.
The project involved branding a new range of paper targeted at designers, typographers and high quality printers. I came up with the name, the logo and created a swatch book (pictured below) and a promotional book (which will be up soon).

Flatterland Unconventional
Jul 26.10 / Design

Here are some pictures of my idea for my unconventional Flatterland proposal which involves every letter of every word placed into a square, which then are arranged into a square. I wouldn’t say it’s fully resolved to be honest, I will admit I ran out of time to develop the actual format of it really, but I thought I’d show it anyway. I might go back to it, but it’s not likely as now I don’t have access to a £1 large format printer, creating things like this will cost a bit too much unless I’m really interested in it!

Flatterland Conventional
Jul 19.10 / Design

Going back a few months, when I was stressing away at university, I worked on a project which involved creating two new proposals, one conventional and one unconventional, for the book ‘Flatterland’ which is a crazy, complicated book (if you are mathmatically challenged like myself!) about introducing different dimensions to a character that lives in a flat dimension called Flatland.
I did post some work in progress screen captures of my unconventional version a while back (which I will show you later), but I never posted my regular version which takes the form of a diary, as throughout the book itself, the main character (Vicky the Line) keeps a diary of all the places/dimensions this orange spacehopper is taking her to (yes, true) and I wanted to reference that part of the book visually. Plus I really like blank notebooks/sketchbooks/large quantities of paper so for me, it was a fun book to make a dummy for.

Studio8
Jul 11.10 / Design

Over the last two weeks I’ve been residing at Studio8 and it’s been brilliant. I’ve had a chance to work on some editorial stuff which I’m thoroughly enjoying and I’ve also been liking the cheeky drinks at the 3 Kings pub round the corner from the studio after work.
Lucky for me I have another two weeks left of great work and great people :)

Computer Arts Feature

Computer Arts 176 – It’s pretty cool to be in a magazine I read when I first started getting ‘serious’ about design. Plus it’s always a good thing to show the parents!
